Insurance cancelled without the Santam letting me know and since then I have struggled to get insurance from other providers

I used REAM as my broker and they insured my household content with Santam.

We had to house break ins. The second and last break in was an armed ******* when they locked my two minor children aged 9 and 5 in the bath room with our domestic worker.

shortly after paying out Santam cancelled my insurance without letting myself or our Broker (REAM) know.

For a period of more than 8 months I was uninsured on my Household content R400 000.

What is more concerning is that although I had been paying Santam for more than 10 years they felt it was excessive claims and cancelled my insurance.

I had a few small claims in prior years.

we took on ourselves to use the claim money to up our security and introduced beams and electric fencing to serve as preventative measures, we were not even given a change or an option for higher premiums. Santa. Simply cancelled out insurance without letting us know. Although I already raised this on hello Peter a couple of years ago. I still am impacted by their action.

I was at risk for a long period and I am unable to obtain insurance from other insurance companies.

All my thanks go to the team at REAM for helping me and insuring me for the last couple of years.

thanks guys.

what can I do to clear my name.

The impression I get is that Corporates like Santam can make a call like this and the fact that my family and I are inconvenienced is not important to them. How can I clear my name?

what recourse do I have, as this is impacting negatively on my family and precludes me from trading with other insurance companies.

I have been the victim of not only the ******** acts but also the callus decision of Santam.

Why should they get away with the exposure risk they put me and my family under and even now the ability to better my financial position by getting alternative insurance if required.
