Inflated premiums but no service whatsoever
Nearly two whole days since I lodged a claim with Santam - I had to submit it twice because their phone app is broken - and still nobody has even looked at my damaged vehicle. Santam have delayed the process time and again, by asking for bits of information instead of everything at once - by sending emails from unattended addresses - by making false promises about people getting back to me - and by expecting me to be intimately fami**** with the vehicle repair industry and to find my own panelbeaters, all of this on an accident-damaged unsafe bike that they initially asked me to ride around to get quotes on. I have cancelled my Santam policy and taken my business elsewhere. I suggest everyone else do the same.
You should keep in mind that by the time complaints hit social media or Hello Peter, the responding company has already had ample opportunity to respond and to handle the situation properly. We post on Hello Peter to warn future potential Santam customers how badly you treat existing customers, so they can see that they should take their business elsewhere. I've already had a few people respond to my Facebook posts, telling me they would be moving their business away from Santam because of the information contained in my posts. It is now too late for Santam to "fix" this. I am not here looking for help. You had that chance last Wednesday when I first interacted with Santam. Then again on Thursday, when I took the time to contact Santam again. Even on Friday, when Santam staff could have gone out of their way to rectify Santam's previous lack of service. Now it is absolutely clear that Santam does not understand the concept of customer service, and has absolutely no interest in taking steps to rectify the situation and retain a previously-loyal customer. Therefore, the public needs to be made aware of this attitude/policy/decision on your part.
