Increase Premiums more than 20%

We have been with Santam for more than 7 years. We moved to a new house and as per usual our premiums changed. Nearly 3 months down the line we received a mail stating that Santam is increasing our premium from R1354 to R1688 (more than 20%). I contacted our broker and asked them to please speak to Santam as my husband had been retrenched and we cannot afford the new premium. The Broker (Vineyard Insurance brokers) rep**** by saying that the premium increase is imminent and sent me a quotation from another insurance company. I then contacted Santam and asked them what they can do for us, they then suggested I remove the broker from our policy, then they can give me a better deal I must just send them a copy of our policy. I did as requested by Santam. After a while I got an email stating due to our claims history they cannot remove the broker. I emailed them again saying I just want our premiums reduced due to the fact that we cannot afford the new increase their reply we they have forwarded my request to their broker contact centre.
