I contacted Santam for an insurance quote when i bought my vehicle last week and i specifically asked if my car was insured on retail value and i was told that it was. This turned out to be false as Santam only insures cars on market value which is definately not retail value. I called in to cancel my policy after 3 days and i was told my policy will be cancelled. 2 days later an amount was debited from my account by santam. Number one, the debit was not supposed to go through, number two the amount debited was not the amount i was told will be debited had i stayed insured by the company and number three, i suffered bad bank charges as a result of the debit as i did not have that much funds in my account. I know that Santam will not refund me for the loss incurred in my account but i am unhappy that i had to pay my money for the incompetence of your staff members for not cancelling my policy when agreed to do so.
