How long does it take???
I made a third party claim for a bumper bashing which was not my fault. Contact was made with the Santam office on 20 April 2024. On this day I submitted a panelbeaters quote plus a photograph of the damage to my car. On 25 April I was told by Puleng Mosime to submit a large amount of documentation. On the 26th of April I submitted the documentation and go a reply saying that documents will be filed under 3rd party correspondence. On 3rd March, a week later I received a mail to say that Julia Mogase had been appointed as the legal offcier for my case. On the same day I got a mail from Julia saying that I must allow 15 working days for them to appoint an assessor. I responded on 14 May asking her to keep me informed of progress. Only on 6 June 2024, did I eventually get a mail from Julia saying that the funds have been released. This is 43 days after my claim was originally submitted. Before signing off on the release I checked with the panelbeaters to see if the quote had not changed over that time and found that there had indeed been a price increase. I then sent in the revised quote on 11 June and have to date not had any favourable response from anyone in the Santam office. At this moment in time I have a looping meesage on their number to say that they are not available. I've been told by julia that the reason for the delay has been that she has been off sick, but this is inexcusable as surely a company like Santam should have people in place to deal with clients yoou are being handld by someone who has gone on leave or on sick leave. I am now coneerned that when the next payment relaease form arrives, the panelbeating costs will nce hagain have increased.
