Great service from Santam

My accident occurred last year, I was standing stationary at a robot. Someone collided from behind and when the person made a u-turn I thought that they were going to find parking and exchange details at the scene of the accident. Instead, the person sped off into the night, leaving me with a damaged car. It was clear by the extensive damages that my car was a write-off.

I put in the claim and received speedy service from Santam through my broker but was always bitter that whilst my car was written off, the person who caused the accident just got away with it. More than a year later, I got a pleasant surprise from Charmaine Barnard at Santam when she contacted me to say that Santam's legal team has found the person to be held responsible and my excess was paid back to me. I am really impressed and the payment was swift from Charmaine. I called her to make sure this is the case and thank her. I work in the insurance industry and rarely do you hear about the third party in an accident who disappeared, being found and held legally liable. It feels as if the people get away with these things. She was helpful on the call and very professional.
