Fine print about removal of fallen trees missing and grid collapse..
November 2022 our town was hit by a heavy storm. Part of a tree on my property broke off, and blocked my driveway and back door. I contacted my broker and asked to put in a claim to remove the massive tree branches and have them chopped into smaller pieces. The broker told me that Santam doesn't cover this. As a female that is not physically strong, I was forced to cut the tree in smaller parts and move it out of my driveway. I had to hire someone to remove that from my property. Today I was on the phone with Santam, in the policy I found you do in fact cover the removal of fallen trees. Santam told me to contact the broker, which I did. The broker responded that only the whole tree forms part of what is meant under that terminology. Why does the policy then not state "a complete tree with roots" instead of just a tree? I also see you are one of the few select who does not cover grid collapse... Luckily there are insurance companies out there who are willing to go the extra mile with a client who is willing to pay every month.
