Excess Refund

<p>I was involved in a car accident on the 03/02/2015 whilst coming from work. I reported the accident to the policie , and also my insurance broker. I received authorisation from the insurance to take my vehicle to Prestige panelbeater , and pay excess of R3500 which i was told would be reimbured back to me once the 3rd party paid . It has been one year and 6 months that this claim is outstanding and everytime i enquiry im told that the claim is at legal department ( Charmaine ) would get back to me which never happens. I took the matter into my own hand went to pay to get a copy of the accident report called the 3rd party to find out what the hold up was with this claim , firstly my insurance broker could not even provide me with a claim no from the 3rd party to say that the claim was received and captured. I contacted the 3rd party again today and was informed that a email was send to my insurance that the driver that bumped me from behind is now denying the accident and that they had receive no feedback from my insurance broker from july. I gave the 3rd party a copy of the policie report which clearly shows that they driver was indeed the cause of the accident and that he signed the report which confirms his guilty how can he now say his the middle vehicle. I am so dissapointed in the reply that i receive fm my insurance broker and that i only receive clarity when i speak to the 3rd party broker. I have been summit insurance client from the day i bought my first vehicle and thiskind of progress upset me. I have to use my own resource to find out what the hold up with this claim is which is abit unfair since im paying my instalment without fail. If you really have to look very closely my claim has been push in a folder and only gets looked at when i phone in to complain , R3500 is alot of money to just sit back and forget about it im sorry and if my insurance has not been up to standard with they process its also not my problem . I never caused the accident yet my vehicle was repaired so do i have to then pay from my own premier since the 3rd party has to date yet not paid anything back . I send a copy of the policie report to summit today as per they request which is shocking that they do not have the documents since this claim has been overdue its almost 2 years . I am fedup of always following up on this claim because no one that give you a straight answer , summit must not even try to give me that line that excess payment are not gauratee back , when i summited this accident i was told not to except any money from the 3rd party because it cause problem i must pay out of pocket because i will be reimbured the R3500 . Its really dissapointing to think you can relax you paying money to people that you can trust with handeling your affairs , but waiting almost 2 years is ridiculous for a refund , because in such a short space of time i found out so much just be checking up and calling the 3rd party broker , if my insurance broker was doing the same this claim should have long time be resolved. Please refer to the matter as i would like to have my money paid back to me . I even upgrade my policy so i dont have to pay excess because alrready im sitting with this problem . If the wheels was turned and i was owing summit would they have waiting so patiently , i dnt think so i would have been handed over to lawyers . Summit please i believe im a value client and should be treated as such. Looking forward to hearing the truth this time.</p>
