Excess *****
I received an updated policy document dated 5 June 2018. On this document my excesses were R3500 for my vehicles but there there were 2 errors that I picked up: 1- Registration number for one of the insured vehicles was missing. 2 - Date drivers licence first issued was wrong. It was written as 30/12/2009 instead of 12/03/2009.
I called in to get these two issues rectified on the 26th of June 2018. They were rectified but when I received an updated policy document my excesses were changed from R3500 to R4000. I immediately called back to inquire about this change in excesses and since then I have been sent from pillar to post. Every time I call either the agent doesn't have access to my policy or when the agent does have access they tell me they will revert back to me after engaging with their superiors (who, by the way, are ALWAYS in meetings and not available). It's been more than a week now with more than 5 calls made but still no assistance. Today, the agent that I spoke to eventually said the document that I was sent on the 5th of June 2018 (with R3500 excess) was a system error because my excesses were meant to be changed on the 1st of June 2018. REALLY?? So your system waited for me to rectify mistakes on the policy document to wake up and change my excesses? I'm starting to think that the "mistakes" on my policy document were not genuine mistakes. They were put there to reject my future claims. Now that I spotted the trap, my excesses increased from R3500 to R4000.
Highly disappointed with this conduct. I'm already contemplating on searching for a more reliable insurance company.
