Draconian Business Tactics

I was informed by Santam that I have to install a second tracking device in my vehicle because of increase in theft and hijacking.

Firstly, when I joined Santam it was not a requirement to even have one but I installed one anyway.

Now I am being told that if I don't install a second one, they will not cover me for theft or hijacking but they will still charge me the same premium.

They did say say that they will reduce my current premium with R19.44 and an additional R54 a month if I add the device. A tracking subscription costs R200 a month plus R2000 installation and so by the way installation is for your own cost.

So I am forced to incur additional cost whilst Santam still gets paid what they were originally contracted to do or else I will lose cover and Santam will be paid the same with far less responsibility.

Santam is clearly a company that is in the business of charging and absolving themselves of responsibility. This was also the case during COVID when it tried to de***** business owners.

I will not allow this draconian business tactics and will take my business elsewhere!
