Don't get Santam Insurance

Santam is honestly the worst. They claim to do insurance 'good and proper' but that's far from the truth. I submitted a minor claim on the 17th of January and still to do date, my claim hasn't been approved. The first claims service consultant (Reyaan Thoppay) who only assisted me on the 21 January, after I called to ask for the update on my claim, informed me on the 22 of January that the claim is in the final stages and that the claim has gone for appraisal by the assessor. On the 23, I got a call from Katlego Moolola who told me that he is now handling my claim. However, he seemed to know nothing about my claim. On Friday I sent an email to him and asked him for an update. He rep**** saying that they are waiting for the assessment report from the auto body that Santam referred me to. After that, an assessor will be assigned to my claim. This is poor handling from Santam! Pathetic! Why couldn't anyone from Santam call the auto body and ask them for the assessment report ? Why is it taking so long for a minor claim to be approved? As soon as my claim is approved and my car is fixed, I'm leaving Santam.

Dear Stephen

I'm not disgusted at how my claim is being handled. I was under the impression that everything was sorted out yesterday when the autobody called me and informed me that my claim was approved and that I should take in my vehicle. I took my vehicle in today and paid the excess of 5k, as was informed by the autobody. A few minutes ago I received a call from Kaygee Paku who informed that my claim was not approved as he was only appointed this morning as my assessor. Additionally, he informed me that my exces is 7k and not 5k. I can't believe this level of incompetence and miscommunication from you guys. I'm honestly feedup with Santam and your poor, poor service and dishonesty. I receives my quote from Discovery and I'm joining them. Pathetic! I think Twitter needs to hear about this. People need to be aware that Santam does not do insurance 'good and proper '
