DO NOT INSURE WITH SANLAM YOU ARE ALONE WHEN YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY

on saturday 22 I had some guests arriving at my house for the long weekend.i went there at 3pm to switch the geyser on it was tripping at the board.I immediately contacted the emergency helpline was kept on hold for 23 minutes is that acceptable for an emergency line after an hour and a half a plumber came out he assessed that the geyser element was leaking which caused the electrics to burn out on the element.i phoned the helpline again to be told that i am not covered for the element.according to the plumber due to the water supply problems in fourways for the last week that caused the element to go. the plumber wanted R1950 IN CASH i told him that i don't have that cash on me that i can do an eft when i get home.he immediately left as he says he had other call outs he would not wait till i had discussed this with sanlam.i phoned the helpline again was put on hold for 14 minutes totally not acceptable after the long wait i asked to speak to a manager i was told that ashton would call me back shortly as he was busy for the next 2 hours i tried to contact him on his private just kept ringing i called emergency again to be told that aston is not there as they dont have managers there on weekend how great sanlam are blatant lairs when i came home i went through my policy i had noticed that in an emergency for not covered items call out including 1st hour is included son sunday morning i went to purchase an element R215 it took me 20 min to install the element at the time of the incident i did have R300 on me in cash had sanlam assisted me the way they should the plumber could have done the repair then and there as a result my whole long weekend was ruined my guests had to bath in cold water i have no other words as *********** lying bottom feeders to treat a customer that has not claimed since the beginning of the policy for quality purposes please track my numbers ********** 100 ********** 66 there you will see waiting times and your lack of service to make it even worse i sent a complaint online on monday and again online yesterday today is thursday still have not had any response from sanlam instead of clogging up your complaints clearly you do not have enough staff to deal with complaints perhaps you should remodel your service i cant believe there is no understanding between your contractors and yourselves common sense would tell me that the contractor should take over to resolve the issue and communicate then and there thith the operator had that been done i could have paid for the part and the repair done, how dare you allow sharks to charge R1950 for 20 min of work to be dropped by a plumber that runs away as soon as he sees a problem i am a contractor that does general maintenance an repairs been doing it for 30 years i have a letterhead I insist that sanlam transfers R1735 for runing my long weekend for the discomfort of my guests this is a principal issue i will put in all my time to take this matter to the small claims court i will win i will also pas this event on to let the pubic know that sanlam are liers and they dont keep to there opligation when you reply to this insident please do not start your responce with we are sorry settle me then i will look at other insurance options
