DO NOT AND WILL NEVER PAY CLAIMS!
I was hit by a truck from Pool Transport, whom is covered by Santam. The driver fled from the accident scene, so basically a HIT and Run, which is against the law, by the way. I was able to get the details of the truck and the trucking company and reported the matter to the SAPS. Santam rejected the claim, based on the driver denying the accident, the very same driver that didn't even stop after the accident to see what happened or if I was injured??? News flash Santam, if the driver was doing something against the law. i.e. speeding, drinking and driving or anything that could cause him to lose his job, he will deny the incident. These guys get paid a pathetic salary of R2000, which they have to support their families with. His company is paying you hundred of thousands in premiums, annually and you can't settle a claim based on the driver, who fled the scene of an accident? So the damages on my vehicle appeared out of nowhere, and I **** under oath when I gave my statement to the SAPS? Is that what you are trying to imply? If this matter doesn't get resolved, I will be taking the matter to the Short-Term Insurance Ombudsman.
