Dismissal

Good day,

I thought i should bring this to your attention.

I was Santam employee till the 9th of January 2018, I was dismissed due to a false claim of my personal policy.

I submitted a false claim. Obviously i couldn't withdraw the claim. The claims department followed up on documents that i had to provide them with and i couldn't as i didn't have any documents to provide.

They sent an e-mail to my manager asking him what should they do about the claim, should they reject it or refer it to forensics. My manager never communicate with me before answering the e-mail to get more information from me as i was already feeling guilty. He just responded to the e-mail saying they must refer this to forensics.I only knew that when i got a message from a guy from forensics asking to meet with me.

I had a meeting with forensics and i agreed that was a false claim being honest assuming that they will charge me with a specific punishment but not with a dismissal.

Went to hearing on the 19th of December 2017, where i also pleaded guilty. On the 9th of January i got a dismissal letter from my manager.

My question is, does Santam does this to all their clients with personal policies as i know for sure there are other clients that does submit false claims. Like for an example a client who work for Nedbank and they submit a false claim and they plead guilty do you also make them dismissed from their employer?

This was my personal policy and it has nothing to do with my daily work. This should have been a case if i assisted someone who is a Santam client using the privileges that i have on system to getaway with their false claim they have submitted.

My manager could have avoided this having a one on one with me on a personal level to get more information and giving advises of the consequences that will incur with the claim.

Since i got to Santam i never had a one on one with my manager on personal and professional level for an example my personal career and where do i want to grow to within the company.

My second question, Santam was voted the best employer of the year but while people being hired and fired.

I pray everyday that god continues blessing my manager.

I am taking a step further to get more advise.
