Deregistration of vehicle

I was in an accident on 28 November 2014. I contacted my broker, GVS Insurance, immediately. I then got a call from SANTAM instructing me that the vehicle will be towed and a tow truck has been dispatched. A week later I received a call from SANTAM asking whether I knew where my car was. I supp**** the details of the company. On 17 December my broker informed me that the car will be written off. I still needed to remove the last of my personal possessions from my car and it took almost a week to locate the vehicle. I received the pay out for my car on 20 January. However, after having signed the last of the documents on 5 January, the car is still on my name and by now the license has expired and there are penalties pending. GVS brokers assured me that they have send the original registration certificate to SANTAM ( I was sent the entire email conversations about my vehicle.) However, nobody seems to be able to locate it.<br> <br> I have been a client of SANTAM for many years and this is by far the worst service I have ever received. Can someone please contact me and explain how it is possible for deregistration of a vehicle to take 3 months?
