Clarification required

Hello SANTAM Unfortunately the first two agents I phoned yesterday never returned my calls as promised but Akhona did and was very pleasant but unfortunately we were not able to resolve the insurance of my solar installation to my satisfaction. Under BUILDINGS > Definitions it says clearly that "solar power generation systems and panels as well as electric power generators." must be declared under "Fixed machinery" (a sub-section of "Buildings"). In Feb 2022 I was told that the solar panels fell under Fixed machinery but that the battery & inverter did not as they are bolted to my garage wall! I really would appreciate an email from you clarifying this matter so that I don't run into problems should a claim arise. Kind regards, Mike

Reviewer Update
Dear Santam My request on HelloPeter of 27 June refers More than 3 weeks have now passed since I received your promise to contact me "shortly"! It is very unfortunate that I have to again resort to HelloPeter but the impenetrable wall of bots (human and non-human) that surrounds you and many organisations today, does not leave any other option. While you contemplate a response to my request may I suggest the following: I'm sure that many of your clients now have a battery & inverter integrated with the electrical system of the house (with COC) and I'd like to propose that these should now be considered standard electrical equipment and therefore covered under "Buildings" and that only solar panels should fall under the subsection "fixed machinery". This is what Lyle told me on 2 Dec 2021 and which Akhona did not contradict when I spoke to her on 26 June 2023. She was going to send me an email to clarify "fixed machinery". I will therefore leave my solar panels under fixed machinery and the inverter/battery under Buildings unless otherwise informed in writing. Kind regards, Mike
