On the 30th September we had a heavy heal storm ,our roofs almost collapsed and the whole house flood. The carpets, ceiling, cupboards, roof & beds got damaged. The quote to fix everything went up to the amount of R220 000.00. The assessor came out and said the roof is fine the people overquote to fix the roof and the cupboards will dry out and wont have damage even the carpet that have a bad smell and started lifting was not damaged.
In the (almost 2 months) time it took to decide what the amount is that will be payed out, we had 3 storms with flooding. The assessor decided to pay out only R57 000. We layed a complaint with the insurens. Sanlam gave the case back to the assessor still today we have not receaved a result. Everytime it rains we are scared of floods, the damages is getting worse and worse we cant continue like this we need to fix the damages but we cant bcs we don't have the money to fix it up.
Why do we pay insurence if it is just excuses when it comes to the pay out. We are tired of the "don't care" attitude its December allready and its rainy season.
