Charged for insurance for a car that was settled in full

My father took an insurance for the car he bought for me through the broker (Friends for life). The monthly installment were coming off from my husband’s account. The car had an accident in October last year. The car was written off and Santam ( main insurance) paid it off. Unfortunately the contract was not cancelled and debits went off every month until April. When I contacted Santam, they advised me to call the broker and send them an email. I phoned the broker and the wrote an email which lacked details on how much was supposed to be paid back to. A week later a credit from Santam for R719.12 came in. Then I called friends for life to understand why are they only paying this amount. The monthly debit was R1015.35. The manager from Friends for life told me that they made a mistake. They later advised me that they will refund the money within seven working day. To my surprise on the 19.05.21 Santam credited R897.17. Based on what I know is that insurance policy you pay for a month ahead all the time. Based on the seven months debuts that went through, they were supposed to credit R7107.45.
