Careful with Santam, they try to force extremely low quality pirate parts onto you.

A person insured with Santam drove into our car 2 months ago, and we've been trying to have our car fixed since then through the other party's insurance. After being asked for multiple quotes from multiple providers, Santam decides to use their own assessors who wants to put pirated parts onto our car. To give you an idea of the quality, Santam wants to replace parts that cost R25k from the manufacturer with parts that cost R3k.

My family have also recently moved over all our insurance to Santam, which I now very much regret, and I plan on moving over to a more ethical insurance provider after this.

My wife is pregnant with baby due any day now and now we still have not had our car fixed. It's been 2 months now, while my previous claims with other insurers have never taken more than a week, and no end is in sight. If we are lucky the contact person at Santam replies once a week so there seems no end in sight to having this resolved.
