BUILDING CLAIM NIGHTMARE!!!

BUILDING CLAIM NIGHTMARE, YET A LOYAL CLIENT FOR 12 YEARS!!!

A portion of my roof was damaged by the obvious frequent severe storms experienced in Gauteng over the last few weeks and caused excessive loud banging noises on the roof whenever heavy winds are present.

After submitting a claim on 27 Oct an assessor was sent out the next day. A quick assessmemt was done of the portion of the roof that was damaged but not on the roof where the loud banging noises stemmed from, which did not sound from the same area where damage occurred.

NO FEEDBACK OF CLAIM PROGRESS FOR NEXT 10 DAYS!!!

10 SLEEPLESS NIGHTS (DUE TO LOUD BANGING NOISES OF ROOF) AND 2 FOLLOW-UP CALLS (which I iniated) LATER, I get an arrogant and rude call from claims handler telling me my claim is rejected due to wear and tear of roof. I ask for proof of the reports indicating this, only to receive a standard letter informing me reason for rejection and a reference to policy schedule wording.

My parents of 70+ are bearing the worst brunt of the loud banging noises and this is what Santam does.
