Beware! A Write-Off, could be a set up

On Eastern Monday, my Freelander II (The best and safest vehicle I ever owned). got hit by another vehicle speeding through a red robot. Damage to my car was not structual, nor major, but expensive. Towtruck driver cried: This is a write-off, I must tow it away now. Car was dumped at a Santam approved panelbeater. It sat outside on a public street/pavement for 1 week before I managed to remove my vehicle to a Landrover approved panelbeater. To start with it took 3 days to lodge my claim, Brolink arranged for an assessor to attend to the vehicle on the 4th day. The assessor never set eyes on the vehicle, never assessed the vehicle, never came near the vehicle. I have all the proof. He merely produced a 9 page "armchair" Audatex assessed quotation, highly inflated amount for repairs, many errors. Result: Write-Off, Total Loss, S****. (He forgot to mention WRECK). Brolink refused to take the vehicle to a Landrover approved panelbeater, for a 2nd opinion, as they were not Santam approved. I transported the vehicle on my own account. It took the Landrover guys 3 days to come up with an accurate quotation, all needed spares availability accounted for. Quote: 65% lower then our 'armchair' artist! Brolink refused to accept my quotation, and send me the 2nd Agreement of Loss (AOL) again dated: April 13, although I only submitted my quote on April 23. By then I was desperate to get the vehicle back on the road. I authorised for the vehicle to be repaired on April 23, and the vehicle was back on the road by May 21, 100% repaired, RWC issued. I tried several times to have the Write-Off cancelled, however the reply from Brolink was always the same: "The vehicle is still a write-off", followed by the AOL dated: April 13. It is clear Brolink (and their associates) were not interested in changing the status of the vehicle. After escalating my case to Santam complaints, result as before: Vehicle still a write off and another AOL. Santam concurred with the bogus assessor, that he had done his utmost to provide an accurate and true assessed quotation, but he did not confirm that he did not (or did) inspect the vehicle. NOW WHO IS LYING? Thank you Santam, I have been your loyal supporter for nearly 30 years. Good and Proper leaves a lot to be desired. Steve
