Bad service from Santam assessor
On 5 November 2024 my son had an accident in Stellenbosch. The vehicle was taken to Stellenbosch panelbeaters in the 6th of November. On 12 November the assessor Noel Peskin sent a email to say that the repairs were approved. We waited 3 weeks for parts to be delivered. We contacted the assessor. He sent a email to the panelbeaters with no reply. We phoned the assessor after a week he tgen only phoned the panelbeaters. He came back to us and said the car will be finished 6 December. When we phoned the panelbeaters on 4 December they said the car will only be finish on 13 December. We contacted Santam again but Noel was on leave another guy from Santam contacted the panelbeaters and the panelbeaters said the car will be finish on 13 December. Today 11 December we phoned the panelbeaters to find out what time we can expect to collect the car in Friday 13 December the workshop manager Justin said the car will only be ready next week sometime. All the previous times I also spoke to Justin. My son phoned the assessor 7 times today and left messages. When he phone 16h15 they said Noel already went home. In the meantime my son have to Uber everyday to work and back that is costing him R400 a day. I am from opinion that Noel is doing is work as assessor. He does not follow up or return our calls. No updates are given. I don't think it is my job as the customer to phonecthe panelbeaters to get an updates. We were very patient until now but it is unacceptable for a vehicle to be at a panelbeaters from 6 November without the repairs to be finalized. I expected better service from Santam.
