Bad service from renew it
To whom it may concern, On 25th June, 2019, I was involved in a car accident and my vehicle was taken away on a flatbed by D.O.T. Towing. It was taken to Renew It, Bedfordview. On Thursday 8th August, I was called to collect my car. Despite more than sufficient funds in our account, their card machine declined the transaction and I had to leave my vehicle there, as only a direct EFT was acceptable, even though this was impossible due to us not being with the same bank. Friday was a public holiday, Renew It was closed on the Saturday, so I was only able to collect my car the following Monday. I returned on Monday, 12th August, expecting the collection to be a swift transaction, as the EFT had been done on the previous Thursday evening. But this was just the start of the unpleasantness to come. I collected the car, and from the outside, everything looked fine. Once I started driving home, I realised that various functionalities on my dashboard were not working. I called Renew It and was told to bring the vehicle back. I have listed the faults below: • The air conditioning was not working and had to be regassed when I returned it. It was conceded by Sergio, the workshop manager, that it must have been overlooked and not done. • The functionality of both the aircon and air intake control dials on the dashboard, had to be sorted out as they were on permanently, and could not be switched off until after it was looked at again. The insinuation was made that I did not understand how my car worked, to which I take great offence. • The hazard lights which should have been activated when the lock function was pressed on the key remote, were not working – again, I was told that it was how the car worked, which I disputed, and lo and behold, once it was relooked at, it was then working as I had said it should. • The blue tooth functionality for hands free calling was not working until after it was relooked at. • My navigation system was also not working. This was my biggest frustration, as it eventually came to light that the SD card was no longer in my vehicle. When I enquired about this, I was told by Liesel, the manageress, that no responsibilty could be taken by Renew It, as the vehicle had passed through various hands, as it had been towed to the premises and that the card was not logged on their intake list. A call was made to the towing company, who also denied removing it, and it was imp**** that my husband had been seen removing items out of my car, when he fetched me from the scene of the accident. I immediately set the record straight, that he had not been in the cabin of my vehicle at any point, and had only moved my belongings from my boot to place in his car. Liesel, basically told me that there was nothing that they could do about it. Please note, that the accident happened in the late afternoon and we were informed that when the vehicle was delivered to Renew It, there was no-one there to take inventory of the contents and that the vehicle was left unchecked till the following morning. My entire experience with Renew It has been upsetting, offensive and frustrating, to say the very least. My vehicle took just under 7 weeks to be repaired and when I was eventually called to collect it, I certainly did not expect to have to return 4 days later and then have to spend half the day trying to get things sorted out, that should have been done properly in the first place. Surely, a checklist should have been completed before I was called? I also feel that the level of unprofessionalism and the finger pointing, but lack of accountability for the loss of my SD card for my navigation, should never have been blamed on me, the customer, nor my husband. I have been driving my car for 3 years, so to have Liesel, the manageress, tell our broker that I needed to be educated on how my car worked, was beyond insulting! She also maintained that the car had been fixed properly, despite the glaring irregularities and faults that were pointed out to the workshop manager. Had I been completely ******** of how my car worked, I would not have been any the wiser as to the shocking job that Renew It did on my car. In fact, the workshop manager had to ask ME what was wrong with my car, as clearly they didnt have a clue. Their only response to everything was that the diagnostics had to be re-checked! I will never recommend the services of Renew It, and I am shocked that they are regarded worthy of doing any insurance work. I would like clarity on what will be done to ensure that my SD card is replaced, as my vehicle now no longer has navigation. I cannot accept that no-one will be liable for it, as the changeover of the vehicle and log-in was flawed to begin with. If you have any queries in this regard, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forwrad to your response. Thanks and kind regards Trevor ***
