At my witts end, 4 months and counting

By default, no cause of my own, I became a 3rd party claimer of Santam.

My son was statioary at an intersection, red robot and it was bumper to bumper traffic. His vehicle is automatic so the gearbox was in Drive. He heard screeching of brakes and was driven into from behind by your client.

I Cas called, I was at work at the time, heard sirens and panicked. I was told that Reece was in an accident on Witkoppen Road. I rushed through from Sandton where I worked and arrived on scene.

The other driver, your client was on scene and apologized for what had happened. I took down his details and gave him mine. I asked for insurance details as my car is not insured. Reece drove the car home, but noted apart from the impact damage to the rear, the gearbox was making a noise, there was a shudder and the suspension from the rear was noisy. We reported the accident that evening and I called the insurance details given to me. Indiwe, and was informed that I would only be able to load a claim once they had been contacted by their client.

This took 2 weeks for your client to do. In the interim, on the 17/04/2025 I was emailed with the required documents I would need to submit when I loaded the claim.

I was able to load the claim on the 25/04/2025.

I spoke to an absolute gem, Jonnica who assisted me as much as she could. All my documents, all that was needed was submitted including the pictures of the damage on my vehicle.

From here on my nightmare started and till today has not stopped. I have emailed countless people within your organization, and have been ignored, messed around and totally disrespected. They have been *********** and not one has an ounce of compassion.

My son, due to this has lost his job, which has amplified my stress and financial situation.

I eventually was given a settlement offer last week, less than 50% of what the 2 quotes were valued at. I again contacted Santam and it was revised but still no inclusion of the gearbox issue or suspension issue.

There was an accessor who physically came to inspect the vehicle. This I will elaborate on when you contact me.

I will also provide you with all the emails I have sent, all the follow-up mails I have done, begging, pleading for this to be resolved.

No one has offered compensation for the above, no mobility, loss of income compensation or support and possible unforseen issues that my vehicle may have due to being off the road for 4 months.

After being delayed now for 4 months I refuse to be shut up with an offer that is not within my benefit. Why should I have a vehicle that is not in the same condition it was prior to your client causing the accident? And why should my concerns be dismissed.

I want this escalated and either my vehicle replaced with a unit of the same condition prior to the accident, paid out in full for all the repairs needed to get the vehicle safe and in the same condition or to have the vehicle value paid out to me so I can purchase a safe, working vehicle for my son.

I am a single mom, sole bread winner with responsibilities of looking after my own mother, this is just too much for me to deal with.

I need this resolved...
