Am i treated now differently because we cancelled our policy

We submitted a Cell Phone Claim with our Broker Integrisure. Submitted all the relevant documentation as requested on the 13/04/2018. Today we informed that an assessor that was appointed on our Building will handle the Cell Phone Claim. With her visit she did not discuss or look at the Phone at all. How is she able to make an informed destitution on the Phone? I am of the opinion that an all risk item that is specified for R 6000.00 are handled as a Fast Track Claim ? Am i treated now differently because we cancelled our policy, because we are not on a Commercial policy to a Personalised policy and the broker did not come back to us with a quotation to stay with them and we moved to another broker.

Good day Corrie,

Thank you for your post above. We are really sorry to hear about your frustration.

We will investigate and liaise with our claims department to find out why they have appointed an assessor on the Cell phone claim.

We will revert once we have received the necessary feedback.

Kind regards.

Still no reply from Santam why they did appoint an assessor on a Cell Phone Claim. The assessor did contact me that her report will be typed today and most probably only go to Santam on Thursday.

Good afternoon Corrie,

We have received feedback from the claims branch.

The reason why an assessor was appointed on this cell phone claim, was because there are three other claims pending on this policy, all with date of occurrence noted in March 2018. This claim for the cell phone also came through and the claim was segmented to the assessor's branch to appoint one assessor to attend to all the claims instead of appointing 4 assessors individually.

Each claim is dealt with on it's own merit and are there no truth in your comment that you are being treated now differently now that your policy had been cancelled from 01/04/2018.

We however do apologise for the inconvenience and frustration this has caused you. We have requested the assessor to expedite her report so that Santam can process payment and finalise the claim with you.

Thank you and kind regards.
