All Santam policy holders
<p>Once known as one of the best out there but might be one of the worst today. Be very careful when considering Santam as your short term company. Service does not exist at all but they will never be late with the premium collection date!</p> <p> </p>

Hi there client care team.
An intruder entered our house on the 7th of April during the early morning hours and stole a laptop from our kitchen table. I registered the claim on the 10th of April but the assessor was only appointed on the 26th of April. The assessor sent his report through on the 28th and I started following up on the 3rd of May. Santam gave us the name of the claims consultant working on the claim. The person working on the claim ended up to be someone that has left Santam even before the item got ******. I then spoke with the Bloemfontein Claims Manager (Deon Van Zyl) who informed us that the assessor will be our claims consultant. The assessor gave authorisation on the 3rd to pay the claim and confirmed today that he received a mail on the 4th confirming approval. I ended up phoning Deon this morning again to follow up and he said that a lady will phone me back shortly with more details. She told me that the approval only went through on the 5th and still no payment has been made.
What irritates me is the lies that were given for reasons and that no one can take responsibility for their actions. It is exactly a month from the incident date and I never received any feedback regarding my claim.
I also work in the insurance industry and will definitely don’t have any clients left if I render the same service as received from Santam. I am also in the process of informing my Santam clients of the service levels and will recommend other companies.
It is interesting to me that I never got feedback or informed of anything during this month, but within 2 hours since posting the compliant got Santam’s attention.
