8 wasted years of paying premiums to Santam
8 wasted years of paying premiums.
I have come to the understanding that Santam had long deemed my vehicle as uneconomical to their business model. However, Santam continued collecting premiums knowing very well my claims well not be handled in a good and proper manner.
The push by the Assessor to writing off my vehicle just shows Santam has no intentions or desire to do business with me in the future.
I have been a loyal client for the past 8 years. Whenever I asked why my premium was high, I was told it is expensive to source the parts for my particular vehicle. In those 8 years Santam only paid a claim worth R9 048.60 for one event and even failed to recover my excess from the individual who caused damage to my vehicle.
I had to beg Santam to assess the quotation from the panelbeater after the vehicle was towed on the 10th of February. There were serious discrepancies with the quote from the panelbeater. I pointed the discrepancies to the assessor but his adamant that the vehicle is a write-off simply because he has decided that he will only pay 50% of the insured value of the vehicle. Insisting that I should bring him a quotation that is less than R60 500.
