5 months and claim still hasn't been approved

I have been waiting five months for Santam to approve a claim on my buildings insurance. FIVE MONTHS! My granite top around my sink broke and not only did I have to get the quotes and the damage report for Santam but now we still do not have a resolution on this. I have a small child at home and if she opens the cupbaord (the only thing holing up a huge granite slab, which will probably also have to be replaced now after holding all that weight for five months!) the consequences will be dire. I am tired of being nice, I am tired of asking and asking when this will be approved. Next step will be reporting you to the insurance ombudsman.
