Were in the income protector policy does it say, you as Sanlam has the authority to deducted lapsed policies?
Sanlam, you are worse than playground bullies. You abuse your power and in the proses abuses your policy holders and in this case you ex employee! How can you deduct lapsed policies once someone is declared disabled and left your employment? Not just a few rand, but you take his full monthly pay out under the income protector policy!!! REALLY!!! Let me explain, why this is traumatizing and shocking at the same time. If my policy for income protector is tax free, why does Sanlam have the authority to deducted any amount from the monthly pay out? Not only have we had questions upon questions regarding the clawback or recovery of lapsed policies since he became disabled whilst not getting any clear answers. He was declared disabled after being on sick leave for close to 12 months.... only to find that all the policies that lapsed whilst on sick leave was now due and deducted. But that's not where it ends. Since being disabled in August 2023, the deductions kept coming. To the point where he did not even receive 1c in January. If that's what you do to your ex staff, why and how can the public trust and rely on you? Questions we have? 1. Who and where do you get the authority to deduct money from policy pay outs? 2. If he did not have the income protector policy with Sanlam, where would you then have recover the lapsed policies money from? 3 Why if his yearly salary is R200 000 and that's what his contributions were based on, is his pay outs per month only adding up to around R150 000 (before you deduct the clawback!!) per year? 4. Why is he still listed as "active" on the remuneration statement yet he is on disability pension as from August 2023?
I want to warn every person in SA about how unfair and unreasonable Sanlam is towards their retired staff.
