Vicious Cycle with SANLAM CREDIT SOLUTIONS - Consolidation Loan

So I have successfully had Sanlam Loans for YEARS (since 2012- 2024) and since then I have looked into a CREDIT CONSOLIDATION LOAN via Sanlam.

Since then I get blasted with offers with Sanlam never intending to grant the loan. Offers and then applications and more offers and yet more applications, with the same result each time - affordability not met. So let me get into it, as it is BULL.

To make it very clear and transparent on TWO things, let's get into it:

ONE - I was interested in a Consolidation Loan (via SANLAM CREDIT SOLUTIONS) for the primary reason of paying off and closing my overdraft and two of my three credit cards, with WOOLWORTHS (terrible company to get credit from, stay away!) and the FNB (overdraft and main credit card - very unwilling to assist with settlement amounts) - this will result in me consolidating close to R6500 worth of credit debt (which I pay currently pay every month, with the FNB credit card being over R3K of that number, which they debit every month SUCCESSFULLY) into ONE loan amount from a company that I have an AMAZING CREDIT RELATIONSHIP AND CREDIT PAYMENT RECORD WITH FOR OVER 12 YEARS. The feedback - 'YOU CAN'T AFFORD IT, DUE TO YOUR OTHER CREDIT RESPONSABILITIES' to which they then start QUOTING my credit cards and overdraft facilities (listed above....) and things like my home loan, which I only pay a portion on (my wife and I split a portion and our company pays the rest as they use office space in our home basically) - - The idiocy of the above is the following - We see you pay close to R6500 in credit and over draft every month (i.e. you have the money to pay it then...) BUT we can't give you the loan to settle the above mentioned credit facilities, because how do you expect to pay US for the loan AND then pay THEM, your credit facility providers at the same time..HARD SIGH....WOW...We clearly see a lot of people working for Sanlam went through our 'highly successfull South African Education System'.... What about the money I would NOT being paying the credit providers, AS YOUR PROPOSED LOAN AMOUNT PAID TO ME WILL BE USED TO SETTLE AND CLOSE THE ACCOUNTS, WHICH IN TURN OPENS UP THE AMOUNTS I WOULD HAVE PAID THEM, WHICH I CAN THEN PAY INTO THE CONSOLIDATION LOAN - THIS IS TO BE DONE WITH THE INTENT OF NOT HAVING MULTIPLE CREDIT FACILITIIES ON MY NAME AND THUS START REBUILDING MY CREDIT RECORD WITH LESS CREDIT FACILITIES ACTIVELY OPEN ON IT. So I'll 'speak slowly' - Basically I'll have the SAME FUNDS THAT I PAID THEM, THE CREDIT PROVIDERS MONTHLY, AVAILABLE ONCE I SETTLE AND CLOSE THE ACCOUNTS THE WITH THE LOAN MONEY...IT'S NOT THAT DIFFICULT TO TO GRASP... So they then do a credit check and won't you believe it - - No,Sir. You don't rank as a possible loan recipient, as you are too heavily leveraged against credit facilities and their payments every month... WOW... It is basic math at the end of the day - settle the THREE different amounts with the potential loan amount which then in-turn opens up the THREE amounts (now available due to settling the above mentioned THREE accounts, which then in-turn can be used to pay ONE AMOUNT to your company, which helps me clear off and repair my credit record and make you money off of a tried, trusted and verified client that has been with you since mid 2012 until Feb this year (2024) and that you have made A LOT OF MONEY FROM if I add up what I borrowed and what you have been paid back over the years. But ok...No one understands the math, concept or long term client based economics of the situation. Nice!

TWO - After wasting my time asking me for everything under the sun in March (I think - I speak under correction) and wasting 30 mins of my time on the phone ontop of the multiple emails etc. back and forth, just to be told (due to the stupidity of the method and math in point ONE above) that I don't qualify, I then requested that you STOP mail and SMS blasting me with your offers, which YOU KNOW I'LL GLADLY TAKE UP but that according to you I can't afford, even though I pay the creditors every month (sigh..) - - So again, I ask NICELY - STOP MAILING ME WITH AN OFFER THAT I KNOW IS WITHIN MY MEANS TO PAY EVERY MONTH, IF YOU HAVE A.L.R.E.A.D.Y. MADE UP YOUR MIND BASED ON A FLAWED QUALIFICATION SYSTEM THAT I CAN'T AFFORD IT.

It is a dirty tactic and to be honest, I have asked you MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE THEN TO STOP OFFERING ME THINGS THAT WILL JUST WASTE YOUR TIME AND MINE AND JUST TICK ME OFF TO NO END WITH YOUR LOGIC ON THE MATTER.

Take me off of your lists NOW.

Do I still need a consolidation loan - YES. Do I feel I'll get it from you - NO SO WHY T.F. do you keep pushing me on the matter if we have been through this excersize before??

Recitify this and let's both move on.

I'll rather look somewhere else to get this consolidation loan sorted, as 12 years worth of my money paying paid to your company doesn't equal to logically looking at a basic math scenario and keeping a solid and religiously paying client on your books.

FOR THE LAST TIME - Take me off of your mailing list and let's move on. More emails and offers will result in me taking it further and treating this as SPAM and take that to the relevant ombudsman.

Thanx!

Reviewer Update
So Sanlam basically in a non direct and very 'allegedly' kind of way accused me of incorrect info given above, as they say (they being one of their reps, let's call him Mr.VB) by saying that I have not done an application since 2019. I then rep**** to Mr.VB and had no response. I then forwarded my email to them that I sent before doing an application on the 22/23 Of March which shows that I asked for assistance with the application - no repsonse. I then took screen grabs of my call log, SHOWING THAT I CALLED THEIR LOANS NUMBER to do the application - still no repsonse from them. I basically showed them that I have done an appilication with MR.VB basically saying in his previous mail that there was none done. So basically I am being told that I must be mistaken or that I must be imagening a 30+ min conversation and telephonic application with people in their group/their loans partners. This is severely poor service from their Complaints Department and Sanlam as a whole. He then also pointed out that there is a R150K loan (personal) that's on the table (i.e. MIGHT qualify for - please note I complained about the DEBT CONSOLIDATION LOANS and he is refering to a PERSONAL LOAN - two completely different things...Just saying....

So basically SANLAM does a hit an run style response from their 'pro compaints department' - You are wrong - You never did an application in 2024 and there is a completwely different loan that you might qualify for, so what is your problem - and then they run away from further comms and responses. Very mature and very professional, guys!

They did promise to remove contact details, which they promised before and on those occasions, it wasn't done, so let's see if it will be done this time.

I retain my stance that if their math and procedures are faulty.

To Mr.VB - If you didn't want to deal with ****ed off clients, especially after telling them that they are mistaken, then go get a job somewhere else instead of playing the childish silence game.

Done!
