Unacceptable service
At the end of 2016 I app**** for a life insurance policy from Sanlam, with the idea to replace my mortgage protection plan with it. The policy was approved at the beginning of January 2017 and I went ahead to cede the policy as my bond insurance.
In March 2017 Sanlam received a medical report for the medical investigation that was done in October 2016. Based on the information of the report Sanlam then decided to cancel the policy. This means that the policy was approved before all relevant medical information was received by Sanlam and it shouldn’t have been approved in the first place.
Sanlam’s handling of this policy appears greedy, un-ethical and unacceptable to me. At this moment I’m without mortgage insurance and the situation could have been avoided.
Good day
