Their customer service is very bad
I resigned from one of the big four banks on the 30th May 2019 and Sanlam Employee Benefits is the pension fund administrator. I sent all the documents for my pension withdrawal and requested them to pay it over to an RA with one of the Fund Managers. All paperwork was submitted around the 10th May 2019 or so. Every time I enquire about the payout, I am getting different responses. The last one was when I sent a complain to them on the 4th July 2019. One of their employees phoned me and told me the pay out will be made on the 5th July to the Fund Manager of my choice. I have followed up with the fund manager two days ago and they said they have not received any payment from Sanlam. It is is almost 6 weeks since I left the employ of the bank and my pension has not been paid out by Sanlam and they keep on giving me wrong dates which they don't stick to. I have tried the internal channels but it doesnot seems to be working as they keep on changing their lies.
