Terrible Service - Unwilling to Speed up Process due to their Negligence

about two weeks ago I sent a cancellation request through to Sanlam asking them if someone could please get back to me on what is required and how long the cancellation will be to process on a policy i have with them. During the past two weeks, have I sent numerous e-mails asking what is the progress and what is happening, yet all i get is a automated system response that it would be attended too in some total days time. Yet today I get a call after threatning to write a complaint should no one phone me back, that they inform me that the ID number I supp**** with my initial e-mail is in correct as there are two digits missing. I then asked the african lady then why has no one taken the liberty to acctualy phone me and let me know this nearly two weeks ago. Then she indicates that they have sent me correspondence on the 12th to let me know what is going on and what is required, yet I have never received. You ask yourself why, cause during February 2016 I contacted them and updated them that I have left previous employment I have started with a new company and have therefore asked that they rather update my details to my personal e-mail account. Yet they go and they sent my communication through to my previous employer of two years ago. Now the process is going to take so much longer due to their negligence, but yet let my just miss by accident one premium they are quick to phone and notify you and wanting to make arrangments for the missed premium...or one get overwhelmed with notifications and adverts of new products but when one wants to cancel and have funds payed out then it is time consuming and having to deal with inadequate staff.

Now a get an e-mail saying legislation is prohibbiting me from getting paid out as it exceeds R7 000.00 this is a personal little policy I took out. this is not linked to a company paying the benefits. I am the sole premium payer, I have been retrenched. So I can not cancel I have to wait till I am 55 yet if I am not able to pay the premium I forfeit the policy and all the funds that was accumilated in this policy. I will be contactting Scorpion Legal, as you are infringing on my personal writes here and withholding funds that has nothing todo with government or legislation. this is my money and I want it paid out. I will be suing

I have contacted scorpion Legal. You are infringing on my personal rights in having legislation dictate that I as an unemployed person not having a say in what needs to happen with a personal policy that has nothing to do with legislation or the government. I am starting legal proceedings and will get what is owed to me...how can one continue a policy being unemployed, yet not paying the policy will result in me loosing everything.

Sanlam You win, you have knowlingly ensured that as end of month approaches and expenses would have needed to be paid, I will not be able to meet my obligations due to Sanlam not willing to forego and pay out a measly R11 000.00 after making taxation adjustment from R12000. Cause as per Pension Fund Legislation anything over R7000 may not be paid out and therefore will only be payable by age 55...I mean realy now my little bit of funds is going to increase by growing interest and by the time I reach 55 (in 16yrs) you will pocket the interest and when all is said and done I might be able to by a loaf of bread at age 55 with this little bit of money....expecting that a company the size you are, working on daily basis with heartache and pain associated with pensions fund having thought there might be a little Humility and compassion was truly thinking that Fairies do exist.
