Severe lack of customer service

I took a SANLAM maxi loan in 2016 and decided to settle the loan in July 2017.

I contacted the call-centre and was told that only selected agents are allowed to deal with this particular product. I was promised that an e-mail would be sent to the applicable department and that an agent would contact me within 24 - 48 hours.

Obviously this never happened. I called back and was put on hold for more than 20 minutes at which point I hung up. Three days later I contacted them again in the hop[e that something might have changed. NO SUCH LUCK. I was given the same excuse and to make matters worse, the new agent could find no evidence of my previous requests.

It has now been 5 days and all I want to do is to settle my loan - the implication being thjat I want to GIVE SANLAM MONEY.

So, in short, if you want to be frustrated beyond your wildest nightmares, go ahead and get one of these loans. I just pray you never have a query or complaint because their customer service department is beyond hopeless.

STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY. Perhaps they should stick to life insurance. Maybe they fare better in that department.

I was horrified to read that SANLAM scored the highest points in a recent customer satisfaction survey. I certainly did not experience any satisfaction in my dealings with their call centre.
