SanlamSky ****** me and they are ignoring my concerns ππ’ππ’π£π£
At SanlamSky youβre most wanted and cared for when they need you to open up an insurance, after that they start ignoring your concerns. π’π’πππ£π£
I have an active policy with Sanlam Sky which I took in 2017. According to the terms on my policy schedule, my policy has to lapse should I fail to pay and also fail to reinstate it within 2 months.
**I was no longer getting my salaries at work. For this reason I was not able to pay my premiums for consecutive 3 months, from December 2019 to February 2020. **Sanlam never communicated with me during that period. The policy never lapsed.
Later, I saw on my March payslip that my employer had paid a contribution for the month. I made a follow up telephonically.
**I was told that my policy was reinstated on my behalf during my shortfall period, with money I was supposed to claim as cashback benefit. I was never consulted when they made that decision for me.
*I contacted Sanlam and Sanlamsky several times requesting a refund of the money that was used to ********ly reinstate my policy, and to refund me all premiums they received after the policy was supposed to have lapsed. They are not responding nor helping me, and they still receive contributions from my employer. π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯ πππππ πππππ

βIt must be noted that there is no refund of premiums due because the policy did not lapse. The complainant enjoyed cover from March 2020 and continues to enjoy cover because the policy is still in force.
If she did not want the policy to continue, she had the opportunity to contact the insurer to stop the deductions but did not do so for almost 2 years.β
1. To cancel a Sanlam policy you need alot of admin work. You canβt do it through a phone call.
2. I kept the policy alive to avoid having it interfere with my case.
My advice to everyone:
Do not fall for the Stop Order ****.
Always insist you want a Debit Order or a DebiCheque.
That way should you feel you want to cancel their policy you can just use a phone or visit your bank.
They must not persuade you to use a **** of a Stop Order.
