SANLAM will get you blacklisted if you are not careful then make it your problem to sort out!

My retired father got a loan from SANLAM - he went to the SANLAM offices in Matatiele (Eastern Cape) and requested the settlement amount quoted at R62 396 - he then settled the amount. Unbeknowns to him, he was supposed to be issued with a settlement letter (which he did not get). The SANLAM agents in Matatiele also did not make this known to him at the time (he submitted proof of payment settling the loan to the office). Fast forward to 2018 he is trying to get a cellphone contract through Vodacom only to learn that he has been blacklisted because the account was never closed by SANLAM and the account has been accumulating interest owing and is he is now owing R780. He went to the SANLAM offices in East London and they refer him to the call centre. We have called the call centre countless times and the agents simply say they need to take it up with their superiors. A man who could settle R62 396 black listed over R780 through SANLAM admin error.
