Sanlam used an expired tax directive to pay out my retirement

Sanlam used an expired tax directive to pay out my retirement, now SARS doesn't want to finalise my income tax. I can clearly read on the tax directive that it is only valid in the 2026 tax year, while Sanlam were sloppy enough to process and pay me in the 2027 tax year, they even issued the IT3(a) certificate that states it is for the 2027 tax year. How can anyone feel comfortable entrusting their investment and associated policy administration to a company that doesn't even know or care about the basics?
