Sanlam Trust - Executor’s Fees

And here I thought, having all my, my wife and our childrens policies with Sanlam, even my and my wifes will with Sanlam Trust, I now wonder if I have made the right choice?

My recent dealings with Sanlam Trust regarding my Fathers Estate was a shocker. I can't believe that Sanlam Trust charged the full 3.5% Executor's Fee for an estate that was finilised in 3 months - Shame on you Sanlam!

Good day

The matter was referred to Sanlam Trust for investigation.

By applying his signature to his will on 30 July 2004, your father agreed to appoint Sanlam Trust as Executors of his estate and to the standard tariff charged for such services.

The Executor’s remuneration is not determined by the amount of time it takes to finalise an estate, but by the gross value of the estate. The average estate takes between 9 and 12 months to be finalised. By finalising the estate within 6 months of death, we believe your mother has received exceptional service from Sanlam Trust.

Kind Regards
