Sanlam refuse to act on an Instruction

On the 17th of July I submitted a letter of authority to Sanlam and requested them to cancel a cession on a policy and supply a cancelation quote.

Sanlam responded on the 24th July to say they could not read the clients signature clearly and needed a Commissioner of Oaths to atest to the signature.

As a commissioner I got the client to sign three times and stamped. I was attesting to the signature, but on the 31st July Sanlam came back and released the cession but did not send the cancellation. When I called I was informed that they did not accept my attestation, This is unacceptable as I was not attesting to anything that was mine, I was attesting to the clients signature.

Needless to say after 21 days the client is no closer to getting his money which he now needs urgently. Well done Sanlam for once again hiding your inefficiency behind a broker so that you do not need to face a client.
