Sanlam Reality Program ****med me

I have since 2014 been a member of Sanlam Reality. To my knowledge this was just an add on as I had other Sanlam products. Only recently when I scrutinized my annual statements did I come to understand that I actually pay for this "privilege" I have immediately cancelled the membership and requested Sanlam to provide proof that I have knowingly and legally joined the program as I disputed this and never enjoined the "benefit" of the program. Like all similar programs the enrolment is done via "cold calling that signs you up. The membership fee is below the threshold where your bank will contact you to advise of new debit order against your account. Sanlam Reality despite having an arbitrator that I directed the complaint to keeps posting generic reply's and respond very poorly. South African companies have a a standard reply that the country is under lock down because of Covid for the past two years despite the level being at 1 only. It has become a standard excuse for poor service. Needless to say Sanlam Reality does not wish to admit that I was signed up without my consent and will therefore not refund any of my membership contributions. As for having an arbitrator that might sound like it is a controlled program but this title never bothered to answer any mail at all. It is time that all these programs that use phone enrolment with contributions below the threshold where banks requires your approval be stopped and held to account
