Sanlam - Private Sector Businesses that are just as bad as the Public Healthcare System

Did you know that Sanlam's motto is, "Live with Confidence. It's more than a motto. It's our promise to you." My experience with Sanlam and their Broker, Efficient Benefit Consulting, has been awful and not at all representative of their motto. I have been living with Cancer since 2021, and have just reached the point where I can no longer work. I am very fortunate to have a disability policy through my employer with the above parties. However the process to submit a claim has been torturous. Not only has Sanlam delayed the process on numerous occasions to finalise my claim, but their Broker seems to have the same attitude. For what it's worth, we all have our own Tom London story about the public hospitals, but let me tell you one thing, the Oncology ward at Charlotte Maxeke has provided a better and more compassionate service towards cancer fighters than both Sanlam and Efficient Benefit Consulting combined. Chanell Adams at EBC and whomever dealt with my claim at Sanlam seem to not know how to diarise, follow up, show compassion or even treat a person with the dignity we cancer fighters deserve. I have had more compassionate conversations with the WhatsApp AI chat bot than with actual human beings at these companies.

Today I was told to rather borrow money from a relative as the first and delayed payment of my disability claim would not be paid before my debit orders go off on the 1st of October. This is after submitting my banking details and final list of documents on the 20th of September 2024.

Absolutely Disgusted!!! Anyone with a family history, relative, friend or connection with Cancer should really reconsider their Policies with Sanlam, unless you are willing to deal with an institution that treats you worse than Helen Joseph as described by Tom...
