Sanlam Personal Loans breaking agreement
I have a Sanlam Personal Loan and my agreement is that my debit order must be deducted on the 22nd of every month. On 15 December I noticed that Sanlam Personal Loans tried to deduct the debit order. As I only expected the debit order on 22 Dec 2025, I did not transfer the funds to my cheque account. My bank charged me R40 for an unsuccessful debit order. In phoning Sanlam Personal loans this morning, the lady informed me sarcastically that each customer received a SMS and an email stating that the installments would be deducted on 15 Dec. If you preferred not, you had to select '1'. I checked my SMS's and my emails and NOTHING of the sort was sent to me. She could also not provide me with proof. In trying to phone back, she kept on ending the call. I am utterly disappointed in Sanlam Personal Loans. They cannot one-sided decide to debit you earlier, without a client's permission. I will NEVER use them again for a loan. I will also inform all my contacts NOT to make use of them. It is the WORST place ever for taking out a loan and the WORST customer service ever.
