Sanlam not to be recommended EVER

I transfered my business with old mutual for 9 years to Sanlam the broker did nothing but harm for me , I have on my life covers attached impairment illness and disability benefits added. I did all the tests requested came back, was healthy as hell. when they did the tests and welcomes me in writing. for the first time August 2024 I fell ill was diagnosed with severe anemia which states on my benefits I can claim for that diagnosis, I was hospitalized I was given treatment and transfusions, I was placed off of driving due to having black outs when I return to work.once I submitted the claim they asked me for the doctor to complete letters which I did the new doctor had to take over as the first one passed away suddenly. they took my medical aid history for the last 4 years which I gave to them and saw that I had seen a Gp a few times which is my house doctor for any family emergencies. and I also went for a few sessions for private issues I was not coping with due to my son who was at that time going through something, they decided to place me on temporary medication to help me cope well at work mentally and emotionally, not permanently on these meds. they diverted my whole claim from anaemia to pushing me to go find a psychiatrist to he evaluated which came back that I do not need to be with a psychiatrist going forward. I have never been to a psychiatrist in my life , the lady who helped me cope with my some was a psychologist and my GP who decided to work with me and help me cope as a mum. I was sent back and forth from last year until now finally had the last document sent off all this on my expenses these doctors they sent me to for things they needed I had to pay. with in a half a day not even a full 24 hours a decision was made by Sanlam that my anemia is under control they are declining my claim. a plan I took out for if ever I was to fall ill while still being alive thinking I'm protecting my self not just when I'm dead but while I'm still alive. after explaining to them that I was retrenched and showed proof this was a decision the company made for me to get 2 months salary out while I find work.because of me being so sick with anaemia and the work I do and driving was a risk they had to let me go. the work sister company gave me half my salary to work from home so no driving just to accommodate me because I have my medication to buy monthly I have doctors checkups to go to monthly, I have a family and myself to look after so what is the point we take out all of these things and policies and covers and pay it for years just to be declined of them to divert the whole diagnosis to something else just to not pay out of what the contact states I am entitled to if something was ever unforseen?. my worst mistake was trusting Sanlam with my business and having me as a clients best interest at heart I will NEVER recommend SANLAM to anyone. Please do not make that mistake it's all lies and empty promises. I will follow the legal steps now . Sanlam is a huge disappointment and a big **** ! You can never get through for help on the land lines and the brokers selling to you are no better
