SANLAM making a R13K death claim SERIOUSLY difficult after 5 years - Still ongoing!!

Since 2016 we've been trying to sort out my late mother's estate.

We've sent through paperwork in regards to a death claim and then heard nothing - so we left it.

Finally, this year,I decided to make one last attempt with Sanlam and got a hold of an agent, who took me through the process.

So this is how the situation stands:

My mother had a retirement plan before she passed away - It's not a big amount, but Sanlam has the money (around R13K) My sisters have given up their rights to claim,as they are over the heartbreak and issues EVERYTIME we have to deal with estate matters.

So the FIRST agent I spoke to says - Seeing that the girls won't claim, out of the 17 page form,we ONLY need these specific pages from you. I then go and fillk in these forms and send it through. Weeks go by,and no update.

So I phone again and get ANOTHER NEW PERSON who tells me something DIFFERENT.

I then go and get the outstanding documents and send it through. I'm then told to phone back the next day and go through everything to confirm Sanlam has everything in order to put it to the board for consideration. I'm told that I can speak to that person again,as they know the case.

Two days later - DIFERENT PERSON once again, with DIFFERENT instructions and paperwork, some of which conflict with the first two.. SO the process starts all over..

This then happened a FOURTH time with a very rude and abrupt OLDER lady, telling me A COMPLETE DIFFERENT thing to the others.

It has now dragged on again for nearly 3 weeks AGAIN to just confirm documents and get ONE person to help and stick to ONE process..

It's simple - I have all the documents + plus my sisters filled in the 'give up the right to claim' forms, as they want NOTHING to do with this process - they want toppo move on now + we did affidavits stating what I was asked to state in regards to no life partner and no dependants etc + I have the death certificates (both of her previous spouses are deceased) + the letter of authority + death notice + notice of death + all the relevant estate details + I.D. copies + Will copy ETC ETC ETC…

I need this resolved PLEASE - speaking to different people EVERY SINGLE time sending me running around to mid town jo'burg for documents, and police stations for affidavits and getting me sisters more and more worked up everytime I need something DIFFERENT and changing EVERYTHING EVERY SINGLE TIME + telling me (about their collogues) ' I don't know why they told you to do that!' - - It's unacceptable and we/I want to close this chapter once and for all now.

I need ONE person of reference/that can help and stick to ONE process and see it through...Going through different people saying different and conflicting things + GETTING UPSET with me for doing what the previous person told me to do....It's unprofessional and unacceptable - - OLD MUTUAL had a claim we had with them on her policy sorted in ONE WEEK + plus we dealt with ONE person, who saw it through with us till the end,so that there is NO confussion and you have ONE point person who knows the case/claim - - So why is SANLAM making it so difficult, with different people in the same department saying diferent things and ****ging on their fellow claims agents??

I was told in the beginning of the week to provide clarity on a point in the will, which I did and that they would get back to me - - We I inquired,I got no feedback and according to the the online check I did via SANLAM'S website,no documents have been loaded onto your system.....

I'm tired now guys....

SANLAM and their ill prepared and,it seems, un-updated/differently trained staff in the same department is making it very difficult and almost impossible to sort out the claim - I feel that SANLAM just wants us to give up so that they can keep the money and close the claim.

I need to be able to MAIL one person as a point of reference and deal with ONE person after 5 years - I don't want to speak to multiple people anymore, telling me different things, possibly hampering and hindering the claims process...

PLEASE SORT IT OUT.
