Sanlam Indie is ******** consumers
I took up a life policy online with Sandlam Indie on the 13th June 2019 and was told i required to do a couple of medical based tests, that all went well until i received a mail from them on the 17th July 2018 stating "You’ve tested positive for Cotinine" and they are increasing my premium from R661 pm to R1373.29. I would be OK with that if i was still smoking and in reality haven't touched a cigarette or any sort of inhalant in over 5 years. i then cancelled my policy immediately and later requested the refund of my R661 but was told i was not allowed to get it as it was outside my 30 day cooling off period, i find this unacceptable, considering they only released the medical facts after the 30 day period was over and is basically forcing me and probably others to pay more based on false facts and cleverly timed emails.
