Sanlam how unfortunate

<div>Sanlam is turning out to be quite a disappointing insurance. My mother has spent years as a client and the one time she needs to benefit from her sickness and disability cover, it’s a problem for Sanlam to even give us decent treatment. Living benefits and Sickness benefits departments are substandard. They will send you from pillar to post to delay processing your claim. You’d think paying a hefty R33000 over the years as a client you’d get half decent services. Claim submitted Q3, 2024. We are halfway through 2025, and not any progress. Where is a disabled person supposed to get 30k to keep up with the monthly premiums? Dare we miss one month, and that will be the end of that claims process. I won’t event begin with that trash call center, prepare to spend at least 30-120 minutes of your day, even as a very early morning caller. When the agent is confused by your query, they simply hang up. Do you people even care that someone who’s worked so hard for many years, pays these absurd monthly premiums and never defaulted is about to lose out on all that she’s worked for. You guys are so quick to sign us on and deduct our moneys, but when the day arrives to honor your part of the deal, you’re telling us about backlogs. The least you can do is respond to our emails including the useless complaints emails. Waive this premium and give us progress reports.</div>

What we are waiting for is a response from the Sickness and Living benefits departments to tell us what the outcome of the claims are.

Also of importance is when they will waive the R31000 paid to Sanlam every month since the claim was submitted last year. Does it make any sense that someone who has been declared disabled by various doctors, including one that was recommended by Sanlam, is expected to keep up with this kinds of payments when it has been made clear that they can no longer work and do not get any income.
What is plan here?

And why is your company getting so many complaints about issues with claims processing. Something is not right.
