Sanlam Has Delayed My Claim for Nearly 7 Weeks With No Resolution

Can Sanlam please explain why a claim submitted on 9 April remains unpaid and unresolved nearly seven weeks later?”

I submitted my claim to Sanlam on 9 April 2026. Almost seven weeks later, my claim remains unresolved, I have not received my payment, and I have still not received my final claim documentation.

Throughout this process, communication has been extremely poor. Updates have only been provided after repeated follow-ups from my side, and there has been very little proactive communication from Sanlam.

At one stage, the delay was attributed to the Return of Transfer (ROT) process. However, the ROT only took approximately one week to be returned to Sanlam. By that point, Sanlam had already been in possession of my claim for several weeks. Even after receiving the ROT back, there were further delays without any meaningful explanation.

After lodging a formal complaint, I was assisted by a certain employee and provided with an EFT listing reflecting a transaction date of 20 May 2026. However, despite receiving this document, the payment has still not reflected in my bank account. I have repeatedly requested clarity regarding the status of the payment and the reason for the delay but have not received a satisfactory explanation.

I have now been informed that the matter is “under investigation.” While I understand that investigations may be necessary, I am concerned that this will simply result in further delays after I have already waited almost seven weeks for a straightforward claim to be processed and paid.

My concerns are:

* Excessive delays in processing my claim. * Poor communication and lack of proactive updates. * Payment still not received despite being provided with an EFT listing. * No clear explanation for the delays. * Final claim documents still not received.

I am requesting urgent intervention from Sanlam, confirmation of the status of my payment, and a firm timeline for resolution. No customer should have to wait this long for a claim to be processed without clear communication or accountability.

I hope Sanlam will address this matter urgently and restore confidence in its service.
