SANLAM GAPCOVER AND SERVICE IS DISGUSTING AND A JOKE
It's a pity you cannot do a zero star review. I signed up for Gap Cover which started on 1 Dec 2024, I received my policy with a fee of R269 per month, first debit order went off in Dec. Come Jan 2025, no debit order goes off - by 6 Feb I email and query to about 3 email addresses. 9 Feb received an email that it has been passed on to the "team" for assistance. 10 Feb I email again questioning the status of my membership - 11 Feb I'm told my membership has been terminated. 12 Feb I email in response, livid that it could be terminated with no notice or reason. No response, I phoned a number and was told that I had called the wrong number and was given another email address. I explained the situation to the lady on the line - for her to tell me the GapCover changed from Kaelo to Centriq and that's probably where the problem came in. Fair enough but I was not even notified that my policy was undergoing a change! Fast forward to early Mach. 6 March get a phone call from a consultant to sort matter out, gave him the low down and was told he would sort it out. He gave me his direct work email address but didn't tell me what I was supposed to send him. It was meant to be my original policy (apparently it could not be looked up on the system). He had my policy reinstated, back dated to the 1st of Jan. I then received a new policy which was R84 more than my original one (R353) and I questioned why and what was going to happen about the back dated payments. He didn't respond I emailed again and then he told me that he does not check his direct email often and never responded to my questions or emailed back. By 13 March he asked for my second policy number and then the only answer I received from him, was that I should email the accounts department and ask them for a payment plan to pay off the back dated amounts. I responded and asked my question about the higher fee again, no response. 17 March I asked him again and no response. 20 March I called the careline and asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that's not an option. I explained the whole situation again and asked my questions - I had no answer about the back dated payments just that I have to pay them in one go - keep in mind that would be a triple payment. As for the increase, obviously I am aware that prices going up every year, but my question was is R84 a justified yearly increase? No it is not. I was then given a different premium to what I originally asked for and not the same coverage. When I tried to explain, I was told that I'm wrong and it was imp**** that I could not do simple mathematics. I became very frustrated and asked for the recorded call to b e sent to me along with a supervisor email address. I am still waiting for both. And just for contest this call was a 56 minute long phone call and at least half of the time I was on hold.... 24 March I received a call to set my debit order date for my triple payment. That poor lady received the whole story and all my frustration again; she gave me another email address. 25 March, again I sent an email explaining all my frustration, questions and complaints. I received an automated email saying it could take up to 14 days for them to respond. 2 April after no further communication from anyone, I have now received a third policy, also reinstated backdated from 1 Jan at a new fee of R495, nearly double my original. I am disgusted, things like medical aid and gap covers are essential in our times, where money is tight for everyone but medical care is so important. No I will look at other options and start my waiting period all over again and hope like hell the Gap Cover is not needed in the mean time.

You are correct a lady phoned me and told me it was being looked into and I would receive another call/update by the end of the day. Good thing I didn't hold my breathe, as I am still waiting. Also, just so you are aware, I have received a fourth policy with a different membership fee this morning and the email heading was " Amendment requested" - the only amendment I wanted, was termination.
