Sanlam- Futura SA Unprofessional Service
Since my ex husband's passing last year, it has been a battle with the process between Sanlam Employee Benefits and its administration companies to resolve payouts due to my children. After months of the run around, the death claim was paid out and only found out 2 weeks later that monies were available to my children. The next and latest struggle has been with FuturaSA and Sanlam, sorting my son's trust fund. I am now over-in debited, being evicted from our home because I cannot pay our rent, my son is no longer in school, because I have had to put myself in debt just to survive without any financial help. I was asked to provide an affidavit explaining how much I need paid to me to support my minor son, and was told that this is not part of their process but was asked to email Futura SA with an amount to help cover the debt I have had to incur. This has come to no end, no feedback, no resolve. I feel that these processes protect these corporations and not the minor consumers who suffer under conditions they do not need to. So as I type this complaint, my son and I are packing our home, having nowhere to go and I can guarantee that neither Sanlam not FuturaSA care about this problem. I hope that in future, both companies will look to change their processes to benefit those who need the finances due to them. I love how they both paint a fantastic and an optimistic and professional service but, in reality, operationally they are all round really bad... No spirit of Ubuntu that our country so proudly lives each day. If there is any resolve, my son and I are in need, for the human basics, let alone the terrible financial situation I have found myself in and left to resolve myself. In these times, if we cannot trust those who are supposed to be in our corner as consumers, who can we trust. Desperate mother Lesley Southgate

As I write this, I have been evicted from my home, with my 13 year old son. This I explained to the consultant who called me and seemed to understand the urgency of a resolve.
Still I am not confident that this has been escalated correctly, else I am sure I would've heard something by now, let alone Sanlam's own deadline was missed by said consultant.
