SANLAM EXTREME BAD SERVICE FOR BLACK PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good day...

I am extremely upset at how Sanlam has been dealing and interacting with me concerning my father's RA death claim.Firstly whenever that i call the call center to enquire about the progress or the status of my father's claim which is noted in the subject line, majority of the time i need to hold on for 10 minutes in order for someone to answer the phone. The consultant that answers the phone then answers in Afrikaans majority of the time which i find repulsive because there are 11 official languages in South Africa and there is a language called English which has been assigned by the whole world to be the business language that they for some cosmic reason do not use from the onset. The people/consultants that are working there are extremely ***********,they are highly upsetting because from the first time that i called all i ever wanted to understand was the fact that what was the process behind my father's death claim. Not once have i been told anything over and above he fact that they (SANLAM) has 21 working days to "deal" with my father's death claim which has long passed because the documents requested were submitted on the 11th of July 2017 and now we are approaching a month without any response, without this claim being paid out.

Honestly speaking the people that they have working there are very condescending when they hear that you are black or have a black name or are enquiring about a black claim process then they are flippant ,even unto the point of being dismissive when dealing with our claims and extremely livid over this because all the requirements have met and met a long time ago.The honest truth is that my mother who is very old now (80 years) is sickly and would like to erect a tombstone for my late father before she passes on but that cannot happen if SANLAM keeps messing around with people's lives like this. The last time before i called this morning i was told by Nomzamo/some lady with a name like that who sounds way too old to be in a call center told me that the 21 working days starts again from the beginning if there ever was any part of the documents needed amending or i need to send anything supplementary in which in my case that was the case for me.That is utterly revolting because i do not understand the logic behind that, why do that to people because the reason why people put away money for their family they put it away because they will need that money some day, whenever that some day is and now right now this is some day and i am extremely affected by all this because it is directly affecting my family.

If i have to hear that there is a board of trustees that needs to make a decision about my father's claim again from these people i am going to become physically ill.The amount that needs to be paid out is a mere R43 0000 and i am wondering that if the amount was R500 000 or a R1 000 000 plus then me and my family would have had to brace itself for a 6 months wait or even a year and wait for them as SANLAM to pay out.I suspect once again that their white clients or afrikaans speaking clients do not have going this rigmarole ,this red tape.Everytime that SANLAM needs to be contacted i feel as if i am asking for a loan or a grant,,put the customer first is the last thing on their priority list and that is disgusting in this day and age.I have asked GLORIA BURKE who is the apparent "specialist" who is dealing with my father's claim to call me,TWICE,though their call back portal that they have on the website and i have sent emails to her as well by replying on the email that she sent me and she has never called me back. That really irks me because my family are a client of SANLAM,if a company/company's employees act as if people/clients are nothing that is not on.

I want this sorted out ,i will escalate this to the heights possible and necessary because i know about "TREATING OF CUSTOMERS FAIRLY",i know about FAIS and the regulations that are from the FSB,we really do not need to messed around with like this.It is nearly a month and NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE.NOTHING.

Regards

Kagiso Andrew Kekana

POLICY NUMBER: ********** 86X0
